ABOUT THE BUSH CAMP
Scrubby Creek is a bush camp located in the picturesque Porongurup Ranges, Western Australia.
About Scrubby Creek Bush Camp
Scrubby Creek Bush Camp was created with a simple idea in mind - to share a unique part of the world and give people a place to experience it properly.
Founder Jack Shiner built the camp following the sale of his successful seed collection and mine site rehabilitation business. With a strong background in land restoration and native environments, the vision for Scrubby Creek was always about more than just a place to stay — it was about connection to the landscape.
Set at the foot of the Porongurup Mountain Range, the camp sits within one of the oldest landforms on earth. This ancient landscape is home to a diverse and highly localised ecosystem, with unique flora and fauna that make the area truly special.
Scrubby Creek was designed to offer visitors not only accommodation, but also the opportunity to learn more about the natural environment around them. Whether it’s recognising native plant species, spotting local wildlife, or simply gaining a deeper appreciation for the land, there’s something here for those who are curious.
Beyond the camp itself, the region offers plenty to explore. From hiking trails through the Porongurups to local wineries, restaurants and nearby nature reserves, there’s no shortage of ways to experience the area — at your own pace.
At its heart, Scrubby Creek is about slowing down, spending time outdoors, and enjoying a genuine connection to place.
